Wine Education with Berks Fizz
Join Ollie and Natasha from Berks fizz in a journey of wine.- originally from Sussex and now residing in Berkshire – and they are obsessed with the wonderful world of wine. They have previously managed numerous bars and restaurants, and have spent time working with winemakers in Sussex, as well as in Mendoza and the Colchagua Valley, learning the ropes.
Wine professionals who regularly host vineyard tours and tasting events, and are qualified Wine Scholars recognised by the Wine Scholar Guild (FWS & SWS) and by WSET (The Wine and Spirit Education Trust).
Single Evening sessions
Sparkling Wines of the World – an afternoon exploring and discussing the different production methods and profiles of sparkling wines from all over the world! Including English sparkling, Champagne, Cava, Prosecco, Moscato d’Asti and more, complete with paired cheese.

Best of British – an afternoon exploring six very different examples of English wines (including Daws Hill!) including still wines, rosé styles, reds, plus traditional and pet-nat sparklers! Plus discussion and insight into our climate, soils and what the future may hold for English wine – all complete with paired British-made cheese and charcuterie!

Cheap vs Steep!’ – an afternoon looking at six wines (three example of two different varieties) – priced at roughly £7-8, £15-25 and £35+ – with an insight into viticulture and winemaking choices, and why different wines cost what they do! The wines are all tasted blind, removing any preconceptions – and then participants have to guess which wine is which based on what they would pay for it! Always good fun, and often very, very surprising…!

Four week courses
Introduction to French Wine – exploring the broad wine styles of France, tasting six wines in each session alongside paired cheeses. The four sessions are Classic Whites (to include wines from Alsace, Loire and Burgundy), Classic Reds (from Bordeaux, Burgundy, and the Rhone Valley), Sparkling & Sweet (to include noble rot, fortified sweet wines, crémant and Champagne) and the Beautiful South (wines from Provence, Languedoc and Roussillon).
Wednesdays, 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd June 2021 – £120
Old World vs New World – looking at the key differences between Old World and New World wines, and a chance to explore the world of wine and maybe even discover some new favourites! We will be tasting six examples in each session alongside paired cheeses. The four sessions will likely focus on Chardonnay + Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc + Cabernet Sauvignon, Chenin Blanc + Syrah/Shiraz, and Riesling + Malbec.
Wednesdays 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th July 2021 – £120
An Introduction to Spanish Wine – looking at the incredibly varied wine styles of Spain, tasting six wines in each session complete with paired regional cheeses – a great chance to explore the lesser known wines of Spain, and a chance to discover some new favourites! The four sessions will be Green Spain (covering Galicia and the northern coast), Continental Spain (including Ribera del Duero, Rioja and Madrid), Mediterranean Spain (Catalunya, Valencia, Murcia) and Andalucia (including Sherry and Sweets).
